Craig David kicks off the opening party with a massive splash!
It's official, the summer season has finally arrived and on Friday 17th May we were thrilled to slap on some sun cream, put on our best swimsuit and accept Ibiza Rocks invitation to the first of many day-to-night poolside parties of the season - the excitement was high.
Following on from the success of last season, Ibiza Rocks have pulled out all of the stops for the 2019 programme. With over 100 events across the season, the opening party kicked off as it should; from the moment the gates opened the venue was packed with hundreds of fresh faces and eager holidaymakers.
After a small refurbishment this winter it was impossible not to notice the make-over for 2019. Embracing the colour and energy of daytime parties, Ibiza Rocks Hotel has gone pink to 'reset the sunset' and bring an exciting new look to Ibiza.
Looking around the pool and the VIP platform, there's always an opportunity for that perfect holiday snap; Whether it is splashing in the pool on a giant inflatable unicorn or posing on the neon pink grass, just make sure to hashtag #DAYLIFE.
A selection of UK talent completed the line-up of the afternoon. Krystal Roxx performed an undeniably catchy set, bursting with upbeat summer jams. Her energy behind the decks was truly infectious and the atmosphere was elevating. This was just a taster of what was to come.
Ibiza rocks resident Patrick Nazemi knows exactly how to hype up a crowd. The British remixer and party-starter played a selection of old and new school RnB, chart-topping house tracks and dance classics. There were plenty of familiar tracks for everyone to sing-a-long and the music remained true to ethos, keeping it alternative and different to what everyone else is doing on the island.
Following the transition to the new "VIP" style of clubbing, we made our way to the new VIP balcony before the headline took the decks. With a glass of bubbly in hand, the view of the stage was fantastic.
Aside from the upgraded VOID sound system, Craig David seriously raised the noise as he received a very warm welcome at 18:30. People hearing his music for the first time are enjoying his chart-topping tracks like 'I know you' and 'Heartline', and the older ravers who remember his UK garage peak are loving this revival dancing to tunes like DJ Luck and MC Neat's 'With A Little Bit Of Luck' and his most famous collaboration with the Artful Dodger,'Re-Rewind'.
Craig David remains the true showman we all love and continues to impress the crowd with his formidable combination of singing, DJ'ing and MC'ing. As the sun begins to set and the anthemic tunes continue to play one after the other ... 'there nothing like this'.
Marking the beginning of what's set to be another wild six months at the San Antonio hot-spot, the opening party with Craig David went down to treat!
