1. THE TALENT
Of course, this event regularly invites some of the biggest names on the planet, but it also showcases some techno tastemakers that some attendees might not have heard of, but certainly will not forget after an evening at Pyramid.
On this night, Manu Gonzalez did a phenomenal job of opening up the club room as the dancefloor filled. After witnessing Cuartero play for the first time at the Amnesia Closing Party last year, I was excited to see him for a second time and he did not disappoint.
He performed a high-energy set with a range of heavy techno head spinners, groovy tech-house and big bassline drops. There was not a moment of averageness and for me, he was the stand out of the night.
A tough act to follow, but Denese & Pika gave it their best shot after being added to the line-up at the last minute to fill in for Tiga. Nevertheless, the pair stepped up to the mark. Renowned Dutch DJ Joris Voorn headlined The Terrace along with Ukrainian techno queen Nastia.
Completing the proceedings, Marco Faraone didn't shy away from deep, dark, underground tech and Drumcode heavyweight Enrico Sangiuliano closed the Club Room out in style. His talent is immeasurable and it reflected in his minimal set which was full of surprises.
THE PRODUCTION
The decoration of the event is made up of creative materials and parties feature hundreds of luxurious green geometrical pyramids that hang from the ceiling.
The purple and green flashing lights and leafy décor make the venue look almost like a magical forest or jungle, and the visuals in each room make for an enigmatic atmosphere. Pyramid features the latest technology, lighting and beautiful dancers that promote the iconic triangle hand gesture.
The crowd is fully captured within a musical vortex as mythical pyramid’s twist and turn and descend down closer towards the bobbing heads of clubbers at the perfect moment in sync with the sound.
THE SOUNDTRACK
If you're still wondering if Pyramid at Amnesia ticks all of your boxes, then put on some headphones, crank up the volume and listen to our top tracks from the evening. As sweet as it may sound, remember to shut your eyes and imagine, or reminisce, the vibrations of Pyramid.
