Loco Dice
"Ibiza opened everything in my life.
It changed me.
It gave me the name LOCO.
It allowed me to understand myself;
to find out who I am.
That was, for me,
the experience of my life,
and I’m happy that I lived it"
This is how emphatic Loco Dice is when asked about his opinion of Ibiza and his experiences on the island.
Loco Dice is nothing short of an institution in Ibiza, one of the DJs who draws the most fans within the more underground circuit.
Loco Dice’s first steps in the music world were far removed from electronic music, working instead as a producer and organizing hip-hop concerts. Despite this, and as reflected in his own words, his trips to Ibiza changed his life and his mindset. He began producing electronic music alongside his close collaborator Martin Butrich, releasing tracks such as “Dope Shit Phatt”, “Menina Brasiliera”, and “Seeing Through Shadows”. The quality of his productions, at the height of the minimal and micro-house boom, led him to become a resident at the true temple of the genre: the Circoloco party at DC-10.
In 2007, together with Martin Butrich, he founded one of the most highly regarded labels in underground music, Desolat. Nevertheless, he has continued to release music on labels such as Minus, Cadenza, Ovum, Four Twenty, and Cocoon.
From that point on, he played at many parties in Ibiza, especially at Cocoon, Paradise and Enter, becoming a regular at Carl Cox’s closing sets… until he finally secured his own party, Used + Abused, at Ushuaïa in 2013.
