Clockwork Classical is the 30 piece orchestra performing classic club anthems at Clockstock Part 2 in Ibiza.
For the first time ever Clockwork Classical takes to Ibiza’s Recinto Ferial on July 23; a 30 piece orchestra replaying classic club tracks at an electrifying open air spectacle led by musical arranger and conductor Matthew Freeman of the London Symphonic and Royal Philharmonic Orchestras.
It starts at twilight after a day of top artists including Mark Knight, Roger Sanchez, Tall Paul, Gok Wan, Jumpin Jack Frost, Fat Tony, K Klass, Shades of Rhythm and Singer Angie Brown.
This extraordinary love affair between Clockwork Orange and Ibiza is steeped in dance music and clubland history and has helped make Clockwork Orange the force of nature it has become today. With their message of inclusivity firmly fixed clubland pioneers Danny Gould and Andy Manston are proud to announce and welcome into the Orange family the following talented Spanish, Ibizian and lgbtqia DJ’s Iban Mendoza, Michel Manzano, Mikey Slade & Danny Oliver, David Moreno. DJ Pippi, Mr Doris and Guy Williams
Conductor Matthew Freeman
Clockwork Classical’s Musical Arranger & Conductor is well versed in transferring electronic sounds into an orchestral setting after working on Ministry of Sound’s Disco and House Classics. The ‘Whitney Houston Show’, ‘George, the music of George Michael’ and the albums Symphonic Rock, ABBAphonic and Symphonic Queen for the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and IQ Magazine’saward winning ABBA The Show are among his many accolades. Conductor Freeman retains the essence of the original tracks but enriches the soundscape with an ensemble of classically trained musicians playing violins, violas, cellos, flute, oboe, trumpets, sax and trombone.
Having performed together for 10 years plus, alongside the world’s biggest stars from Gloria Gaynor and Alexander O’Neal to Gareth Gates and Mica Paris, the audience can expect a flawless yet spontaneous show with some unexpected twists and turns as the sun sets in her inimitable colours.
“I’m hugely excited by the prospect of performing this music in it’s original setting, in a new way,” says Freeman. “There are a lot of orchestral textures in the music; by adding the orchestra we’re creating a sonic experience that really hits home. It's spontaneous and infectious; the kind of music you can’t sit still to. We´re not performing at them, we’re performing with them”
LIGHT SHOW
In hommage to the balearic roots of electronic music, the production captures the essence of Ibiza, set like a cabana at twilight with billowing drapes, palm trees in the background and views of Dalt Vila. The voices of Kevin Leo, Dawn Elektra and Michelle John take you journeying through both time and emotions as the sun sets, floating LED screens play visuals from the last 30 years and an incredible light show kicks in after dark.
All day festival fun at Clockstock Part 2 with a spectacular sunset performance from Clockwork Classical – the 30 piece orchestra led by Matthew Freeman of the London Symphonic and Royal Philharmonic - in between headline international and local DJs, playing the outdoor arean and inside.
