Destino hosted a special
Flower Power on Friday, August 8th, in which the real stars were the partygoers. Dress code: afro wigs, colorful flowers, high-waisted pants and giant glasses that recalled the hippie essence of the 60’s. A trip back in time with the legendary and almost mythic hymns of Peace & Love, "Could you be loved" by Bob Marley,"Yellow Submarine" by the Beatles and "Love in in the Air" by John Paul Young, joined to the smell of incense that filled the dance floor created an atmosphere of mysticism and happiness highly contagious. The classics were giving way to more modern songs as "Happy" by Pharrell Williams but always with a touch of positive energy getting a smile on the face of each person who came to the dance floor.
The terrace of the luxury resort owned by Pacha was dressed with peace symbols, colorful flowers, and cardboard leaves of marijuana hanging over the heads of the crowd. There was no assistant that missed a photo inside the Volkswagen van, "beetle" cars or the photocall of the Beatles crossing Abbey Road that were installed at the entrance of the enclosure. Up to the VIP area underwent a total transformation with the addition of Balinese beds with colorful cushions and carpets and deejays playing on drums. A large market with stalls of handicrafts, bags, headbands, masks, bracelets and pictures complete the stage.
There were also banners of protest against oil, a very hot topic on the island following exploration projects that private companies want to carry out on the Mediterranean coast.
The night was completed with a great number of performances that offer flares and flowers and made small live shows. A Harley Davidson crossed the middle of the dance floor and, in the central pool, a man flew with skates of water propulsion. The music just fell at 24h when all eyes turned to the walled city of Dalt Vila where the fireworks of the Festes de la Terra lit the sea. Undoubtedly, Talamanca Mountains became the perfect location to enjoy the anticipated show.
