One Last Tour Was Never Really the Last
Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso had all built solid solo careers in Stockholm before the world started calling them Swedish House Mafia. Their breakout moment as a group came in 2008 with a headline set at Cream Amnesia in Ibiza, and from there things moved fast. "One" with Pharrell, "Miami 2 Ibiza" with Tinie Tempah, "Save the World" and the unstoppable "Don't You Worry Child" — all chart-toppers, all Grammy-nominated, all permanently embedded in the soundtrack of a generation.
They became the first electronic act to headline Madison Square Garden in 2011 and the first to close Coachella's main stage in 2012 — milestones that felt impossible for dance music at the time. After their farewell One Last Tour in 2013, the trio reunited in 2018 and came back stronger, releasing the critically acclaimed album Paradise Again in 2022, which debuted at number one on the Billboard Dance Chart. Collaborations with The Weeknd, Sting, A$AP Rocky and Alicia Keys showed a group far from content with resting on past glories. With over ten billion streams and a legacy that inspired an entire generation of producers, Swedish House Mafia remain one of the most important acts electronic music has ever produced.
