Spain's Techno Elder Statesman: Three Decades of Pure Presence
Born in Barcelona, Paco Osuna started DJing professionally in 1995 and has not slowed down since. His first Ibiza residency came at Amnesia in 1999, where he learned his craft alongside Sven Väth before being introduced to the Cocoon booking agency. The years that followed brought residencies for Richie Hawtin's ENTER at Space Ibiza, Marco Carola's Music On at Amnesia and appearances at every major festival and club on the circuit — from Fabric London to WOMB Tokyo, from Movement Detroit to Time Warp. In 2006 he launched Mindshake, a label that became one of the most important techno platforms in the US and Europe.
His studio work includes remixes for Plastikman, Groove Armada, Basement Jaxx and Adam Beyer, and his DJ sets — hybrid affairs that blur the line between live production and traditional DJing — are built on a philosophy of total presence. His NOW HERE concept, which launched at Hï Ibiza in 2022, takes its name from that same idea. He has won Best Artist and Best Techno DJ at the Vicious Awards and Best Producer at the DJ Mag Awards.
