Juan Carlos Ozuna Rosado grew up in San Juan, Puerto Rico, raised by his grandmother after losing his father at the age of three. He started writing music at twelve, and by 2012 had released his first track, "Imaginando", under the name J Oz. The early years were built on hustle — over 300 live shows across Puerto Rico before most people knew his name. That changed in 2016 when "La Ocasión" put him on the Latin charts, and in 2017 his debut album Odisea cemented everything, sitting at number one on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart for 46 weeks.
What sets Ozuna apart is his ability to move between reggaeton, Latin trap, dembow and urban pop without losing his identity — a soft, romantic voice that somehow works just as well over hard-hitting beats as it does over ballads. He has collaborated with Shakira, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Rosalía, Daddy Yankee and Cardi B, among many others. His track "Taki Taki" with DJ Snake, Selena Gomez and Cardi B became the most-streamed song on Spotify in October 2018. He holds two Latin Grammy Awards, five Billboard Music Awards, twelve Billboard Latin Music Awards and four Guinness World Records — including most YouTube videos to surpass one billion views. With over 50 million monthly listeners on Spotify, he remains one of the most-streamed Latin artists on the planet.
