Flamenco Meets the Future: Spain's Most Groundbreaking Duo
After a decade as individual artists, the two women behind MESTIZA joined forces in 2021 and created something the electronic music world had never quite seen before. Their sound bridges flamenco and contemporary electronic music, weaving palmas, Spanish percussion and raw emotional intensity into house and melodic techno with a result that feels ancient and futuristic at the same time. Their debut album Quëreles debuted at number one in Spain, and their second album Spanish Chica followed in April 2026 ahead of a landmark appearance at Coachella — making them the only female Spanish artists on that year's lineup.
In 2026, MESTIZA became the first female artists ever to lead a summer-long residency in the main Theatre room of Hï Ibiza, the world's number one club. It is a historic moment for the island, for Spanish music and for electronic music in general.
