James Hype
The Technician: Speed, Precision and Pure Dancefloor Instinct
James Hype grew up in Sheffield and developed an obsession with the technical side of DJing long before most people his age were paying attention to it. His lightning-fast mixing style — cutting, blending and scratching at a pace that separates him from almost everyone else in the room — built a devoted following that grew exponentially when his productions started landing. "Ferrari" became a top ten UK hit, "More Than Friends" followed close behind, and his remix of Bru-C's "Original" introduced him to an entirely new audience. He has racked up over ten million monthly listeners on Spotify and headlined arenas and festivals across the globe.
His SYNC live concept, which wires his mixing rig to a custom lighting array so every technical move he makes triggers a corresponding visual response, has become one of the most talked-about show formats in clubbing. It turns a craft that most crowds never notice into something you can actually watch and feel.
