Latin House From Marseille to the World
Florent Hugel grew up on the shores of the Mediterranean in Marseille, France, raised on a diet of funk, soul and disco before discovering house music and teaching himself to DJ at sixteen. His rise was anything but overnight — years of grinding through the clubs of St. Tropez, Cannes and Monaco sharpened his craft before the world started paying attention. That changed in 2017 with "I Believe I'm Fine", a gold-certified collaboration with Robin Schulz, followed in 2018 by his viral remix of "Bella Ciao" with El Profesor, which became the official German summer hit of that year and went platinum in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
From there, HUGEL became the face of a sound he helped define — Latin house. His track "Morenita" broke into the global club circuit and spent weeks at number one on Beatport, while "Marianela (Que Pasa)" with Merk & Kremont surpassed 40 million streams. In 2024 he released "I Adore You" alongside Topic and Arash, his biggest mainstream hit to date, earning him over 22 million monthly listeners on Spotify. He has collaborated with David Guetta, J Balvin, Robin Schulz and Diplo, performed at Tomorrowland, EDC Las Vegas and Lollapalooza, and holds over one billion total streams across his catalogue.
