Ukraine's Melodic Techno Powerhouses With a Cinema-Sized Sound
Artur Kryvenko and Vitaliy "Batish" Limarenko met in a Kyiv club in 2014, recognised an immediate musical chemistry and started producing together within weeks. Their early track "Mandrake" caught the ear of Richie Hawtin, who played it in every set for a year — the kind of support that opens doors fast. A Diynamic Records release followed, then the run of Beatport number ones began: "Atlas", "For a Feeling" with CamelPhat, "Return to Oz" (their remix of Monolink), "Element" and "Best of Me" with Sailor & I. In 2021 they launched Upperground, their own label, which has hosted events in Tulum, Barcelona, Dubai, London and beyond.
Their Cercle performance on top of Sugarloaf Mountain in Rio de Janeiro has amassed over 32 million views on YouTube. They played the Santiago Bernabéu stadium in 2024 in what was the first ever electronic music concert at the ground. Their music has appeared in campaigns for Dolce & Gabbana and Grand Seiko, and their collaboration "Tibet" with Argy remains one of the most celebrated melodic techno tracks of recent years.
