Weekend Tickets are now on sale for the Clapham Weekender (see right) – London’s legendary electronic weekender showcasing the very best live acts and DJs! Includes entry to SW4 on Saturday August 29 AND Get Loaded on Sunday August 30.

With rumours of an actual summer happening in the UK this year (shock horror!), it looks likely that another Bank Holiday scorcher should prevail over at Get Loaded in the Park. Saying that, the weather has always been kind to us over the past 5 years, and this summer the sun looks set to shine even brighter on Clapham Common as we can reveal the first Stage to be announced in full, including some new acts just added to the festival bill....

THE HEAVYWEIGHTS...

Norwegian duo Röyksopp aka Svein Berge & Torbjørn Brundtland are currently on the tip of everyone’s tongues right now following the release of their latest masterpiece ‘Junior’. It follows their massive million selling debut ‘Melody A.M’ released 2001, the acclaimed 2005 ‘The Understanding’ and their hit singles ‘Eple’, ‘Poor Leno’, ‘Only This Moment’ and ‘Remind Me’; which won Best Video at the MTV Europe Awards. The first single from the album, ‘Happy Up Here’ is currently dominating playlists all over the radio, and there’s more sensational songs on the way with guest vocals coming from fellow Scandinavian stars Robyn, Lykke Li, Anneli Drecker and Karin Dreijer-Andersson (The Knife). Put simply, Röyksopp are back, bigger than ever before, and we’re delighted that they’ll be headlining one of the arena’s at Get Loaded in the Park this summer. Watch exclusive videos and hilarious content of Röyksopp here: http://vimeo.com/channels/royksopp.

Other live additions to the bill include the underground sounds of both Parisian super-god Laurent Garnier and German duo Miss Kitten & The Hacker. Laurent Garnier has been wooing dancefloors around the globe for three decades with his broad stylistic range... everything from deep house to Detroit techno, acid and jazzy fused drum n bass gets thrown into the mix! With tracks ‘Crispy Bacon’ and ‘The Man with the Red Face’, Garnier backs up his cult DJ status with two of the greatest dance records ever released and this year he presents his brand new album, ‘Tales of a Kleptomaniac’, supported by a full love show as seen on Clapham Common at Get Loaded this summer. Miss Kitten & The Hacker have an equally rich musical heritage with former solo and joint projects confirming them as pioneers of what was the electro-clash scene. In 2009 they’re back in magnificent fashion with new album ‘Two’ – the follow up to 2001’s acclaimed ‘First Album’ which spawned the anthems ‘1982’ and ‘Frank Sinatra’. Regulars at Fabric and Bugged Out will testify to their show-stopping credentials and the new show unmasks a perfectly accessible, more elegant, more mature and more distinct - yet, still pop - side.

THE FUTURE...

With plenty more live acts yet to be announced, Get Loaded also glimpses into the future with live performances from some our favourite hotly tipped artists for 2009... Esser, Trip and Marina & The Diamonds. Mega-quiffed Essex ska-pop troubadour and former Ladyfuzz drummer (Ben) Esser is the diminutive and softly-spoken presence who writes and plays Esser's songs. He recently supported the Kaiser Chiefs as part of their huge arena tour and is about to embark on his own UK headline adventure where tracks including ‘Work it Out’, ‘Headlock’ and ‘Satisfied’ are set to propel him to superstardom. Trip is another artist with significant promise. Described as “The Streets v The Clash”, Trip’s debut single 'River Phoenix' is tipped to be one of the tunes of the summer and has massive support from Get Loaded’s radio partner XFM. A chance meeting by the young London MC with the Scratch Perverts led to another chance meeting with Killa Kela, where shortly after, Trip was touring the world with both acts, supporting bands such as NERD, Justin Timberlake, Busta Rhymes, Red Man and Outkast! Look out for his forthcoming album 'ShortCuts' coming soon! Completing this hat-trick of new talent is solo star Marina & The Diamonds. 2009 is most definitely the year for the leftfield female popstar and although M&TD somehow missed out on the BBC’s Sound of 2009 list, she’s joined the winner of that poll (Little Boots) on Atlantic Records’ subsidiary label 679. We really can’t begin to tell you just how excited we are about this half Welsh, half Greek star and watch her profile sore between now and August!

THE DJS...

On a DJ tip we’ve pulled out the big guns. In a world where drum n’ bass and rock collide, there’s simply no-one bigger on the planet than Aussie band Pendulum. Tracks like ‘Granite’ and ‘Propane Nightmares’ have become outright festival anthems, and over the past few years Pendulum have smashed just about every festival worth playing at! Catch them on the decks at Get Loaded with MC Jakes. Joining them is another cross-over dnb act in the form of Chase & Status. Signed to Ram Records, Chase & Status can do no wrong. ‘Pieces’ feat Plan B was a heavy slice of drum n bass, whilst ‘Against All Odds’ feat. Kano is an old skool joint of funk flavours! Dubstep track ‘Saxon’ is currently on the radar and look out for a major collaboration with Snoop Dogg no-less... ‘Snoop Dog Millionaire’! Chase & Status are on fire right now and will be DJing on the day with MC Rage. There’s more heavyweight action in the form of techno dude Felix Da Housecat. The Afrohead man has worked with everyone from P Diddy to The Chem’s and Madonna in his illustrious career and he’s produced some killer tunes in his time including ‘Silver Screen Shower Scene’ and ‘Watching Cars Go By’. New single ‘Kickdrum’ is currently making a ruckus and forthcoming album ‘He Was King’ is on the way. Felix is the original party starter and will undoubtedly blow the roof off at Get Loaded! Representing the noizy electro scene will be Crookers, Steve Aoki and The Bloody Beetroots. Over the years Get Loaded’s brought you everyone from Soulwax to Tiga, Erol to Boys Noize... and this year we’re supporting the new kings to the throne. Italian duo Crookers are taking over right now. Original tracks ‘Prostitutes’ and ‘Knobbers’ are massive, as were the remixes for The Chemical Brothers and Dusty Kid and then there’s the small matter of the UK No.1 hit ‘Day N Nite’ with Kid Cudi which really brought them mainstream attention! Underground, overground; Crookers tear it up wherever and whenever and you don’t wanna miss them this summer that’s for sure! The Italian invasion continues with The Bloody Beetroots, part of Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak Records revolution. The Spiderman-mask wearing duo’s new track ‘Warp’ (feat Aoki on vocals) is getting plenty of props right now and like Crookers, their DJ sets have to be seen to believed!! Dim Mak’s head-honco and Ibiza Rocks resident Steve Aoki also brings his DJ-stage-diving antics and plenty of (noizy) fun to the Common (look out for details of the Dim Mak Stage coming soon!)... plus we welcome two of the best loved radio jocks in the country in Rob Da Bank and Eddy Temple Morris. Rob is Radio 1’s innovative musical connoisseur, Sunday Best’s inspiring leader and of course curator of the very excellent Bestival festival on the Isle of Wight, whilst Eddy is XFM’s very own Mr ‘Remix’, where he hosts his legendary show every Friday night "Where Dance Rocks".

New to Get Loaded in the Park for 2009 will be the Dim Mak Stage, hosted in association with Time Out and Datatransmission.co.uk. This is the first ever that Dim Mak will touch down in London, yet alone the UK, so big things are expected as they bring the noize to the Common! Dim Mak is an integrated lifestyle brand dedicated to delivering cutting edge culture via music, fashion, live events and the digital domain throughout the world. Dim Mak Records is an independent record label founded by Steve Aoki, headquartered in Los Angeles and distributed by Fontana via a joint venture with Downtown Music. Dim Mak has released over 100 albums, singles and EPs in a variety of genres for artists including Bloc Party, Klaxons, MSTRKRFT, The Kills, Von Bodies, The Rakes, The Deadly Syndrome, The Willowz, Mystery Jets, Whitey and more. Dim Mak's current active artists include MSTRKRFT, From Monument to Masses, All Leather, The Bloody Beetroots, Shinichi Osawa, S.P.A, Machines Don't Care, Felix Cartal, Pase Rock, Motor, Scanners and The Deadly Syndrome amongst others.

"This will be a really fun day with lots of crazy action on our stage” offers Dim Mak leader Steve Aoki. “We can't wait to have a good time with everyone!" That sentiment is set to be shared by everyone who joins them in their stage including a killer line-up of party starters brought in to deliver the goods from the DJ box. Step forward techno dude Felix Da Housecat, deadly duo The Count & Sinden, Italian scenesters Crookers, old skool master Junior Sanchez, plus the Dim Mak pairing of Steve Aoki and The Bloody Beetroots.

Steve Aoki set up Dim Mak Records in 1996 and accidentally fell into djing as he began to put on his own parties in and around LA. Now firmly established as one of the hottest DJs in the US, Get Loaded will be Aoki’s first major UK appearance and one to savour. His stage-diving antics have made him a cult hero on the dancefloor and he’s pretty handy in the studio too, having remixed the likes of Peaches, Snoop Dogg, Bloc Party, Timbaland and Lenny Kravitz under his own name or as ‘Weird Science’. Felix Da Housecat meanwhile is the Afrohead man who has worked with everyone from P Diddy to The Chem’s and Madonna in his illustrious career, and has produced some legendary tracks including ‘Silver Screen Shower Scene’ and ‘Watching Cars Go By’. New singles ‘Kickdrum’ and ‘We All Wanna Be Prince’ are currently making a ruckus and forthcoming album ‘He Was King’ is set to be BIG. Over the years Get Loaded has brought you all the electro heavyweights from Soulwax to Tiga, Erol to Boys Noize... and this year we’re supporting the new kings to the throne; Italian duo Crookers are taking over right now. Original tracks ‘Prostitutes’ and ‘Knobbers’ are massive, as were their remixes for The Chemical Brothers and Dusty Kid, and then there’s the small matter of the UK No.1 hit ‘Day N Nite’ with Kid Cudi which really brought them mainstream attention! Underground, over ground; Crookers tear it up wherever and whenever and with a debut LP dropping on Southern Friend Records this summer, the guys are set to be one of the most talked about acts of 2009. The Italian invasion continues with The Bloody Beetroots, part of the Dim Mak revolution. The Spiderman-mask wearing duo’s new track ‘Warp’ (feat Aoki on vocals) is getting plenty of props right now and like Crookers, their DJ sets have to be seen to believed!!

New names added to Get Loaded in the Park and playing in the Dim Mak Stage are The Count & Sinden and Junior Sanchez. The Count aka The Count of Monte Cristal aka Herve and [Graeme] Sinden are two of dance music’s foremost sonic experimentalists and are at the very forefront of all things ghetto and bassy! Put simply, no one does it better. In 2008 they released monster tune ‘Bleeper’ feat. Kid Sister (“Hit me on my beeper, hit me on my beeper, beeper, beeper, beeper, beeper”) and in 2009 they remain two of the most demand DJ/producers out there. Check out Sinden’s radio show on KISS 100 or his ‘Get Familiar’ residency at Fabric and as for The Count, be sure to hear his amazing new remix of ‘Lush’ by Get Loaded headliners Orbital and his acclaimed ‘Ghetto Bass’ compilation. Completing the bill is US star Junior Sanchez. The veteran spinner has given the remix treatment to likes of Madonna, Daft Punk, Gorillaz, New Order, Giorgio Moroder, Les Rhythmes Digitales and Roisin Murphy to name a few and shortly releases new album ‘New Morningwood’, as well as keeping himself busy with his Brobot label.
