Halo at the Light Bar
on 25th May 2008 from 3:00PM to 1:00AM
Following a hugely successful event last month at Sosho, Halo’s series of boutique parties continue on Bank holiday Sunday the 25th of May at the Light Bar, Shoreditch. This format is a completely fresh direction for Halo and has already paid off big time with some of the best music on show at our events so far in 2008. For those who don’t know (quite frankly, where have you been!!!) we have taken the decision this year to split the brand into two separate nights, aimed at different sections of our crowd. Now The Cross, Key, Canvas and Turnmills have all closed their doors, London’s ever resourceful clubbers have turned to the smaller and some times cooler clubs and party spaces around town to get their kicks. For us this has meant setting up two separate parties, one showcasing the very best underground house, techno and minimal and the other with a more straight house music policy. Not only has this kept everyone happy but it has also helped distill our music policy for the right people in the right places. So enough of the lecture…back to the light bar!
This event features one of the most exciting line ups we have had for some time. Headlining the main room we have Stimming (Live) one of the hottest DJ / Producers on the scene right now. Based in Hamburg Germany on the brilliant Diynamic Music label Stimming is the artists behind some of the freshest music in the past year, alongside fellow Diynamic artists of the minuet Solumun & H.O.S.H. Releases such as Radar, Funk Worm and Eiszauber demonstrate the full spectrum of his talents and are well worth checking out if you haven’t already got them. Joining him, Halo regular and new Leftout Records head Neil Parkes returns to Halo for the first time this year. Neil has long been one of our favorite DJs and never fails to rock the room so it’s great to have him on the bill. As usual deep House & Techno resident Tom Roberts promises to deliver another faultless trade mark performance on the night and is also joined by East London minimal maestro Johnny Blanco, thus completing the line up in room one.
Room two offers more quality music with a real journey through house music on the night. Whether it’s the deep dubby sound of a Freerange records or Buzzin Fly release, the jakin’ west coast beats of the inland knights or the production rich and beautifully brutal tones of French electronic house, every record played in this room represents serious music for true fans of the genre. As we saw at the last party at Sosho, this room is going to be huge at Halo in 2008 with its raw energy and brilliant atmosphere to boot. DJs on the night include Halo residents and house-aholic trailblazers Chris Hartnett & Jay Da Funk alongside very special guests Red 11 a.k.a Defected records James Jackson and Eleven Recordings Olli Collins. To cap things off, bank holiday Sundays tend to be sunny affairs so we will definitely be making the most of the outside area at the venue. To truly make our own mark on this venue we have brought in a very special sponsor in the form of Pepe Jeans to help transform the courtyard into an interactive party space with a real difference. Watch this space for more details coming soon and in the mean time watch this space for more details coming soon.
All in all bank holiday Sunday the 25th of May at the light bar promises to be one of the hottest tickets in town so make sure you don’t miss out. Doors open at 3pm and close at 1am so it’s a day time into evening affair. There will also be a secret after party on offer for all you professional stay-awake-ers featuring more special guests and Halo DJs.
