The Mothership

At Corsica Studios, United Kingdom on 9 May 2008

Lineup:

Stage: Medicine 8 (live), Geiom (live), Marc Ashken, Dj SpamChop

Studio: Matt Star (live), the Minimalists, Dj Sick Rebel

Visuals: the Underground AudioVisual Movement

We welcome the wonderful, dubstep/IDM crossover sounds of Geiom to the stage for a full live show. Geiom's music demands attention and when he plays people take note.

Following Geiom will be Marc Ashken, diverse, creative, interesting and fun, but always with a cutting edge for the floor, so be sure to find your dancing shoes.

Closing the stage show will be Medicine 8. Known for destroying the biggest stages across clubland with their huge basslines and thumping grooves. After a hugely successful album, dozens of remixes from XPress2 to the likes of Kylie, the Medicine 8 bros have been in the studio developing a new live show, which we are honored to be hosting at the next Mothership.

Flying over especially to headline the Studio room is Germany's hottest young techno talent, Matt Star, for a very special UK debut.

Matt's records are played by the highest of his peers, from Ricardo Villalobos to Loco Dice, Hawtin to Luciano, he is a remix master and made the heaviest of stamps in the new breed of European minimal techno with his excellent Weave release, The Art Of M.

Interweaving the performances will be dj SpamChop! A self-proclaimed technological turntablist, Chop will mix techno to dub, electro to ambient, technically superb and creatively diverse.

SickRebel, the main producer from the fresh BloodTribe Record label, Rebel's sound is deep, very deep, and bassy, very bassy. Dubstep crossover music with a futuristic feel.

The Minimalists are the Mothership's resident dj collective with a combined knowledge of life the universe and everything. The Minimalists join the dots, from classic Detroit to Scandinavian cool, minimal electronica of the highest standards.

All this in London's best underground venue, with pub-priced drinks and a large outside smoking terrace, but best of all, a full Funktion One sound system.

Also on 9 May...   Also in United Kingdom...

Directions

Corsica Studios is located just two minute's walk from The Elephant and Castle Underground which is served by the Bakerloo and Northern lines . However, the Elephant and Castle subway system is notoriously complicated so please follow these directions if you are unfamiliar with the area. If arriving by tube follow the signs for the Shopping Centre exit. On passing through the ticket barriers take the ramp to your left which heads up in to the shopping centre. Once inside, walk straight past the escalators and cafe area and through the exit doors ahead of you. Pass straight through the Thameslink ticket area, through the exit and turn right on to Elephant Road. Corsica Studios is 50m further down the road on your right hand side. This may sound complicated but it is the simplest way to get here if arriving by tube. The Thameslink overground Line also serves the Elephant and Castle, with a frequent, reliable service to many destinations between Bedford, Luton, St. Albans and Brighton. It also offers a convenient interchange route with mainline services arriving at Kings Cross. If driving, please ensure that you enter Elephant Road from the south roundabout or Walworth Road approach. We have a limited number of private parking spaces for clients if required and there is also an NCP car park less than 1 minute's walk away. Numerous Bus services also serve the area nearby. More...
