Back by popular demand, Turnmills Sessions presents another exclusive evening with Pioneer Pro DJ and those 3 DJ amigo’s – SOS (Desyn, Demi & Omid)... a repeat of last year’s legendary sell-out party at Turnmills. Playing out on 6 X CDJ 1000s, 3 x DJM 800s, 2 x EFX 1000s and 3 x Laptops, the SOS sound is one of the most unique mash-ups in the land, and this extended workout in the hallowed main room den of Turnmills is definitely not to be missed. SOS or SEXONSUBSTANCE as they’re otherwise known, are the uber-cool DJ alliance comprising of Londoners Demi, Desyn Masiello and Omid16b. An ‘SOS set’ is very much like a modern day X-Press 2 kind of thang, with all 3 DJs having their own kit to play with throughout. 2007 saw them start the year with that unmissable 6 Hour Set at Turnmills back in January, before they held their own at two of John Digweeds’ Bedrock parties at Heaven, the odd boat party and overseas session, plus a main stage slot at South West Four and the resulting after party at Brixton Academy.

We’re also thrilled to welcome Underwater Records supremo Darren Emerson back to the club for the first time in over 6 years to join the event, some are calling the first ‘big’ London club night of 2008. Back in the day, Darren was monthly resident at Turnmills’ acclaimed Saturday night event ‘Headstart’ (alongside Dave Clarke, Josh Wink and Andrew Weatherall) and this will be his first time back in the DJ box since then. From his involvement with Underworld, to his much-loved record label Underwater, Darren has a happy knack of hitting the big time wherever he goes. As a DJ he still travels the globe week-in, week-out, and we look forward to him playing his 1st London gig of the year at Turnmills.

The rest of the line-up sees the Twisted Audio collective of Andy Newland, Warren Mooney and Sarah Rodin set the early pace in the main room. Twisted Audio are one of the capital’s true pioneers of the progressive/electronic scene and they’ll supply the perfect warm up beats for this one. Next door in T2, Pioneer Pro DJ will be looking after things, with residents Rik Parkinson and Martin Dockree joining London rockers Mike Monday (Playtime/Om Records) and rising star Timo Garcia for more underground wrong-ness.

Last year Turnmills became a fully functional Pioneer-endorsed club and we’re delighted to be working with them again on this one-off spectacular. Pioneer’s Pro DJ range has earned an unrivalled reputation for excellence by applying research and development that is second to none and offering exciting new avenues for artistry around the world. Blazing a trail for inspirational DJ technology since the CDJ series of digital decks burst onto the scene in 1994, the Pro DJ range remains ahead of the game by listening to the leading professionals in the field and anticipating the ever-changing demands of the industry.

Competition Corner....

In a special comp, we’ve got a Pair of HDJ 1000 Headphones to giveaway. If you fancy getting your hands on this hot new bit of DJ kit, then simply email stix@turnmills.co.uk and the winner will be notified and chosen at random.
