Following the legendary sell-out Carnival event featuring Reinforced & Good Looking Records, Primal returns to Turnmills on Boxing Day Night with the 2nd instalment of Alchemy and a line up of epic proportions. Featuring five rooms and two of the most well respected and groundbreaking labels in Drum & Bass history - Metalheadz and Moving Shadow, plus the Primal/Stealthrollers room… this is guaranteed to be another sell-out event!!

Joining us will be one of our favourite labels - Metalheadz. Founded in 1993 by Doc Scott and Goldie, Metalheadz has been home to some of the brightest talent in the Drum & Bass world. The label is notable for its highly-sophisticated, intricately-produced productions and high quality back catalogue displaying influences of reggae, hip-hop, house and techno. The Metalheadz label was also the driving force behind the seminal Metalheadz Sunday Session Club Nights - a legendary night at the Blue Note club. Metalheadz continue their Sunday Sessions at Clockwork in Islington as well as holding a monthly residency at Herbal. Artists representing Metalheadz on the night need no introduction. On the decks will be Goldie B2B Doc Scott (exclusive 2 Hour Set), Fabio, Randall, Storm B2B Bailey, DJ Lee and Commix. Your hosts will be Fats, Rage, Justyce and Fozz.

Taking the reigns from Reinforced Records at our last party, the legendary Moving Shadow join us in the Old Skool room to take us on a journey through the years by a selection of their leading artists - EZ Rollers, Aquasky, Cloud 9, Dom & Rolland, Addiction and DJ Trax (Mixrace) hosted by Shadow residents Flux, Moose and Five O. Started in 1990 by Rob Playford, Moving Shadow is one of the best-known and well-respected labels within the genre, achieving its 100th single release in 1997. Just as Alchemy encompasses various styles within jungle/drum and bass, Moving Shadow’s output was a representation of the rave scene, with Rollers such as the ‘Helicopter Tune’, Ray Keith's storming tech-step ‘Terrorist’ track, to the soulful, melodic productions such as Omni Trio's ‘Soul Promenade’. Join us on this rare occasion by a label which has been the backbone of the scene.

As if this isn’t enough, Primal host the Stealthrollers room and it’s a spot light for a selection of our favourite DJs. The line up is pure heavy weight as we welcome a debut appearance by DJ Hype alongside Andy C, Marcus Intalex, Grooverider and Total Science with MCs GQ, SP, DRS and Lowqui on the mic. Be prepared of a sonic onslaught of music across the spectrum.

In Anexo (the Smokers Bar), the DJs will be spinning a heavy mix of soul, funk and reggae with DJs Jai Ahri, Dissect and Biomethod, whilst upstairs in Topfloor, DJs Nixon, Double 0, Alex Vieira and Tendai will be spinning a rich mix from House and Detroit techno.

Last year’s Boxing Day event was a total sell-out and following the incredible success of the August Bank Holiday ‘Carnival Special’, we strongly advise you to snap up your tickets well in advance for this once in a lifetime event.

Also on 26 December...   Also in United Kingdom...
