He is the newly crowned World’s No.1 DJ and he is here to headline The Gallery Christmas Party: Part 2 on Friday 21st December. Who are we talking about, only leading Dutchman Armin van Buuren of course!! Armin blew us away at our huge 12th Birthday party back in May and then again at the beginning of September with another banging set – the type of which, that’s made him a firm favourite worldwide. Armin has long called The Gallery his home in London and this year we’re delighted to witness him take the prestigious numero uno slot. From the days of his legendary ‘Armin Only’ 8 Hour Sets in the main room, to the infamous Gallery banana moment (those on the Gallery myspace will know!!)… AVB is more than welcome at Gallery HQ and we’re all set to give him a hero’s welcome this week. As ever, Armin continues to set the pace most struggle to follow, with a relentless schedule of appearances at leading clubs and festivals, a family of record labels responsible for some of the best tunage around and of course his A State of Trance radio show - which is still one of the most listened to and noticed radio shows around. His weekly Ibiza party Armada, continues to delight on the white island and for this special Xmas bash at Gallery HQ, Armin brings with him one of the new talents he’s unearthed this year in the shape of Blake Jarrell. Aged just 23, Blake has had a rollercoaster of a ride to date and is now a firm favourite in the Armin camp. He toured with AVB around the US, winning new fans in Pete Tong, Tiesto and John Digweed and he’s just put together a new compilation for Armada. A definite star for the future, make sure you don’t miss his UK debut – just in time for Christmas!
Gallery stalwarts Tall Paul and Judge Jules also get in on the festive action, both having rocked The Gallery every month this year. There’s not much that hasn’t already been said about these two, but trust us when it comes to true legends of the floor – you don’t get much bigger than these. Tall Paul has probably DJ’d at Turnmills more than any other DJ (EVER!) and his eclectic sets are always dancefloor pleasers of the highest Gallery order, so don’t miss out. Jules meanwhile, always records his sets at The Gallery to be made available to download at a later date via his website and the reason for this of course is because he has more freedom to play the sort of sets that he craves, but can’t always play!! Gallery favourite Tania von Pear provides the deep, early grooves, leaving weekly resident Gavyn Mytchel to get all festive at 6am with plenty of Gallery anthems to finish on a real high.
T2 sees the end of year Joy party and more blissful Balearic beats from long-standing resident Steve Lee. For the big Xmas bash, Steve welcomes a few old friends in the shape of club legends Alex P, Lisa Loud and Jon Pleased Wimmin – who played one of the stand out sets from recent Clockwork Party at Turnmills. Look out for Gallery Members old and new as this Friday’s party promises to be one of the best nights of the year!! Just don’t forget your mistletoe!!
