Scala

So notable a venue its name is typically preceded by with the definite article, the Scala is one of the UK's most hallowed halls.

"London's alternative live music, club and arts venue" has a total capacity of over a thousand over its four floors. There are three boozing zones bars including the Glass Bar which is on a mezzanine level overlooking the main room.

And what a space that is. The stage has been graced by A list acts including Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Moby, the Chemical Brothers, Outkast, Robbie Williams, the Rapture, Kelis, Kosheen, the Scissors Sisters and even the incomparable Lionel Ritchie.

Thousands have got down on the oak dance floor, entranced by the highly specced sound system, projection screens the new lighting rig, installed in 2004. The tiered dance floor provides excellent stage visibility.

The Scala is licensed till 5am and can open till 6, seven days a week.
