Apothecary Bar and Dining Room, situated next door to EGG, started its club trade in early 2008. Taking over from a ­disused former apothecary shop built in 1876, the focus has been on using the authentic wood surroundings to ­provide a relaxing setting to see live entertainment, DJs, bands and cabaret.

The bar offers everything from cabaret to Sunday roasts, staying open until 3am on weeknights and 6am at weekends. There’s also talk of a dressing-up boudoir and games room, complete with Wii’s and TVs, open to clubbers attending Breakfast@EGG, the regular Sunday party that runs though the afternoon.
