Ibiza institution arrives in London to celebrate 10 fantastic years!

In 2001, a former record shop in San Antonio put a recording studio at the rear of the shop and a small bar for in-the-know workers and industry stalwarts who frequented both the record shop and studio.

The bar’s popularity grew as fast as vinyl sales declined, so within 4 years its function had changed from being a record shop/Internet Cafe to being solely a bar. Plastik’s emphasis on quality saw several other forward thinking bar owners emulate them and paved the way for quality brands like Ibiza Rocks and Pete Tong’s Wonderland to venture into the much-maligned San Antonio.

Five years ago, Plastik moved away from its original West End location to its current position, near San Antonio’s iconic egg roundabout.

Since then, it has helped further improve San Antonio’s post Ibiza Uncovered reputation and become a favourite haunt of celebrities visiting the island. Popstars like Tulisa and JLS; a host of footballers and their wives (Stewart Downing has even been behind the decks and Coleen Rooney was a regular in 2011); actors like Danny Dyer and many TV and soap favourites, from David Walliams to TOWIE’s Mark Wright; urban stars like Dizzee Rascal, Taio Cruz, N-Dubz and Tinie Tempah; sporting heroes like Frankie Detorri along with a number of footballers, models and reality stars. All have been given the special Plastik treatment and enjoyed the unique vibe that has turned Plastik into one of Ibiza’s ‘must-visit’ venues.
