Nick Curly Live @ Space Opening Party, Ibiza - 30-05-2010 by R_co
This summer, he takes his career to a new level when he launches his DJ residency at Space Ibiza and provides one of the mixes in the latest instalment of the iconic ‘Cocoon Ibiza Summer’ compilation series, alongside Marco Carola.
Producing records since 2005 and, at that time, only a well known name in Germany’s Rhein-Main area, Nick’s early releases on murmur, Supernature, 8 bit and Plastic City laid the groundwork and lit the fuse in the mid 00’s, before subsequent tracks like ‘Pujante’ (Cocoon), and the Cecille releases ‘Stuntman’ and ‘Dubnoise’ saw Nick explode out of the domestic German scene and on to the worldwide stage for the first time.
The big names were not slow to identify his talent and hugely well received remixes soon followed on Get Physical, Liebe*Detail, Mobilee and Saved. As a creator of taste, Nick has taken his Cecille and Cecille Numbers labels, that he run together with Marc Scholl, into the stratosphere since their inception, delivering one dancefloor smash 12” after another and, in the process, helped launch the careers of acts such as Markus Fix, SIS, Robert Dietz and Alex Celler.
More recently, his work together with partner Gorge on his ‘other’ label 8 Bit Records has consistently been hitting the highest heights and Nick now finds himself in the enviable position of having three of the top 20 charted labels on Resident Advisor’s esteemed DJ charts each month. .
Jamie Jones (Circo Loco - DC10 / Crosstown Rebels)
*****************************************************
Jamie Jones has achieved in the space of a few short years what many producers try for in a lifetime. Turning his hand to a variety of styles while still maintaining a strong signature sound, Jones has created an admired musical identity and a loyal global following.
One of techno’s rising stars, Jamie Jones is part of a new guard of house and techno djs who resonate as artists, party people, djs, and live acts. Raised in Wales (which most people don’t hold against him), Jamie’s university days in London helped launch his infatuation with club culture that would bring him to Ibiza during the summers.

Ultimately relationships forged during those island summers helped Jamie become an integral cog in thriving music scenes of Ibiza and later East London, where Jones’s bustling djscandance warehouse parties and regular gigs at Fabric helped make his mark in London during the winters.
During the summers, gigs and residencies like the Space Terrace, Manumission’s Music Box Room, and later DC10 (a club he frequented as one of the original regulars in his early days on the island) helped him gain a foothold in the Ibiza Scene while defining a sound that was uniquely electronic, soulful, and bouncy, with a consistent groove. During one of these summers in Ibiza, he played his long in the works creation Amazon to Freak n’ Chic boss Dan Ghenacia who signed it on the spot.
Amazon, when released, was well received and immediately drew Jones favorable comparisons to luminaries like Mathew Jonson and Carl Craig and went on to become the labels biggest selling record. Jamie followed that standout release with recordings on leading labels like Crosstown Rebels, Get Physical, Cocoon, Poker Flat and far too many more to mention. Consistent to his production quality are low wobbly basslines, dissonant and hypnotic keyboard lines, crisp snares, and the aforementioned steady groove.
Since Then, Jamie’s relationship with Crosstown Rebels has grown, as he takes on the cap as their new secret weapon and studio mad scientist. After a series of beatport top 10 hits in 2008 such as Kaskazi with Simon Baker on Get Digital, nobody could have been prepared for the snowball success Jamie has had during 2009.
The first single from his Debut Album “don’t you remember the future” was ‘summertime’, probably the biggest track of this years Miami winter music confrence. The EP achieved an unprecedented 3 tracks take over of the beatport top 10 for what seemed like months. Shortly after that his second single, a collaboration with Old School breakdance legend Egyptian Lover was another huge hit, with its music video being played regularly on MTV.
If all this wasn’t enough, when the LP hit the stores it became possibly the biggest electronic album of the year, highly rated by almost all dance music press worldwide.
The result of all this has lead to Jamie Jones becoming one of the hottest commodities on the global techno circuit today.
