Bank Holiday Sundays are about big, feel good events and what better way to be part of this than by joining two of London’s leading underground promoters Read The Crowd and Sickvibez as they bring you a night of nostalgic old skool alongside future house to mark the twentieth anniversary of two of the biggest anthems ever!
N-Joi Anthem
Headling the main room will be non other than old skool legends N-Joi whose 1990 smash 'Anthem' a tune which during the heady days of rave quite literally made fields full of people rush their fucking bollocks off. Creating more euphoric moments and placing far more hands in the air than any other, this track successfully crossed over from the underground to the mainstream and still guarantees spine-tingling moments and packed-dance floors securing it’s place in the hearts and minds of clubbers across the country.
Mark from N-Joi explains: Anthem originally started out as a live track which we almost didn't put out but we were persuaded (fortunately!) and it took on a life of its own. It was being played on all dance floors from very underground to high street commercial clubs. Paul (Trouble) Anderson played it as his very first track when KISS FM went legal. We got signed to Deconstruction Records (BMG) and went to No 8 in the UK singles chart, with a performance on Top Of The Pops and onto No 1 USA Billboard Dance Chart!’
Chad Jack 'Hear The Drummer Get Wicked'
Our second old skool hero celebrating 20 years of his biggest hit is non other than CHAD JACKSON whose 1990 hit HEAR THE DRUMMER GET WICKED was one of the first singles to hit the top of the UK charts solely using samples. Sailing to No.1 in the UK Dance Chart and NO.3 in the UK top 40, Chad’s legendary status goes beyond this as he was one of the first disc jockeys in the UK to actually mix records together, his skills so revered he was head hunted by the HACIENDA to become resident where he inspired many of those who went onto create the infamous MADCHESTER SCENE as well as pioneering the early UK house sound and creative DJ mixing as a whole.
