Finally after many a stale year it seems that good music has returned to Shoreditch on a Friday night…. InsideOut? Is the new weekly party launching at The Hoxton Pony (Curtain Rd) and flouro-coated-techno-shit it most certainly is not!
On Friday 2nd April InsideOut? presents an Easter bashment special featuring an exclusive DJ set from Ska legend Neville Staple. Best known for his work writing & composing as the lead singer in The Specials, Staple is credited with changing the face of Ska and pop history. Neville's biography reads like a who's who of rock. He has worked with such legends as Elvis Costello (The Specials 1979 – Chrysalis Records), David Byrne (Fun Boy 3 Waiting 1983 – Chrysalis Records), and Ali Campbell (Today's Specials 1996 – Kuff Records/Virgin), to name only a few. Neville Staple will be performing as a DJ and PA running through his bottomless vinyl collection of Ska/2tone dance floor fillers.
Alongside Neville, resident DJs Crash Rhino will be joined by Death Disco co-founder Danny Watson entertaining the crowd with a soundtrack of Indie, Motown, Northern Soul, 40’s & 50’s Rock ‘n’ Roll and Ska with El Gordo turning up the tempo later on, taking full advantage of the bank holiday extended opening hours. Expect to dance away the early hours to a background of 80’s Electronica and old school mashups.
Tables can be reserved upon a first come first served basis, for those of you celebrating special occasions, or indeed just want to let your hair down in style.
So once more – Inside Out Easter Bashment Special comes to town on Friday 02nd April at The Hoxton Pony, and if you don't come down, we will literally turn you Inside Out?
This event is no longer onsale!
