Undercurrent is for those who like their nights out up close and personal. 2010 sees Undercurrent return to the nation's capital, with a monthly event at London's hottest new club Cable. With line up's carefully selected to showcase the finest in underground house & techno music the first friday of the month on your clubbing calendar is now permantley filled.
There is much talk about Cable and it sets the scene immediately, positioned in a tunnel under a bridge, the club is discreet in its outset until you step in to the labyrinth of walkways to the 2 perfectly formed rooms which boast 2 superb sound systems.
For the launch we have brought in Get Physical head honcho & one of the scene's biggest luminaries. Thomas Koch aka DJ T. has been a vital part of music and club culture for more than 20 years, during which time he has built up a reputation in a range of different capacities: DJ, label owner, producer, event organiser, club operator, publisher and journalist. DJ T stared by playing at private parties in 1968 in Germany and is now touring the world with relentless crowds awaiting his magic on decks. DJ T’s excellent taste for a good party led him to organise events and open one of the most recognized German clubs: Monza. Moreover, his distinguished need for spreading his love of music gave the light to the music magazine ‘Groove’ – which today remains Germany’s most important publication for electronic music. Most importantly, DJ T’s label ‘Get Physical’ has released many gems, the label’s output is most certainly one of Koch’s biggest achievements to date. We're very excited to have the Get Physical man for our opening night as part of The Inner Juke Box world tour.
Also on the night we have Geddes. London-born and artistically-bred, Geddes harbours a passion for deep, profound and organic sounds, a style that brought him to the forefront of London’s underground music scene. Label-owner, producer, DJ and promoter, Geddes shares a love and personal vision for house music. Ably supported by Sam Ball, a rising star in his own right with release's on Saved & Urbantorque, and Cubism's Mark Gwinnett.
Room 2 hosted by Urban Torque Recordings, is taking a deeper approach to proceedings with Roberto Rodriguez headlining. A producer and remixer of outstanding repute, Roberto has been setting dance-floors alight with this unique and mesmeric deep house sound. With releases on the legendary Compost and Freerange, and remixes across a multitude of quality labels, Roberto isn't just a great producer, he's also a great DJ too. Support comes in the shape of Ric McClelland, aka Scope, a producer & DJ, who in the space of little under 3 years has established himself as one of the best young talents within the house scene, with a penchant for deeper vibes, Scope has been blazing a trail for the nu-school. Also on the night will be A&R / Label Manager for Urban Torque Leigh Morgan.
