Lost presents Cosmic Disco Tech

At East Village, United Kingdom on 30 May 2009 from 23:00

Lineup

Downstairs: Alexander Robotnick, Steve Bicknell and Oliver Ho.

Upstairs: The Soul Jazz Records sound system.

Join us for the second date in the series of cosmic-disco-tech nights.

on this occasion deep space electronic disco tinged techno delivered downstairs courtesy of steve bicknell and guests electro dance pioneer alexander robotnick, oliver ho and toru. alexander robotnick’s rroblemes d’amour has gone from 80s cult worship to Italo disco heaven and back and is now rightly hailed as one of the key tracks to spark electronic dance music into what we have today. Twenty years later the track sounds as fresh as the day it was made. Acidic basslines, simple yet catchy synth lines and funky, pre-house rhythms all add up to maurizio dami’s robotnick blueprint. while robotnick has gone on to make many albums from electronic to world and pop he is still highly revered as one of the key instigators of the 80s dancefloor revival., we eagerly await his much anticipated alternative electronic cosmic disco set! steve bicknell defines the essence of the musical tone downstairs while showcasing impending releases on cosmic records. oliver ho, no stranger to the lost and spacebase dance floors joins us on his first outing at cosmic-disco-tech. known primarily for his techno and minimal dj sets this is a man with eclectic taste and more to offer. toru completes the line up downstairs bringing his hearty bag of records and knowledge honed at vinyl junkies.

We are pleased to announce the soul jazz records sound system, hosting upstairs. The dj arm of the seminal soul jazz/sounds of the universe empire brings the best to be found in reggae, dancehall, funk and soul, dubstep, old skool jungle, hip hop, post punk and non stop party vibes, just as they have done worldwide for the past decade.
