Long regarded as one of the highlights of the Ibiza summer, many people time their holidays to coincide with the Radio 1 weekend. The event will be based at the brand new and trendy Ushuaia venue this year, with Annie Mac and Pete Tong broadcasting live from the beachside venue at 7pm on Friday, August 3rd. Annie Mac will be joined by DJ Fresh, Redlight, Disclosure, Iggy Azalea and Groove Armada. Pete Tong, who starts his live two hour broadcast at 9pm, will be joined by special guests, Maya Jane Coles, Eats Everything along with Axwell and Pete Tong, back to back with Joris Voorn. From 11 pm, BBC1 will broadcast a four hour essential mix, which will include highlights from Carnival @ Sankeys with DJ Sneak and Carl Cox @ Space, recorded on Saturday, July 28th, and Tuesday, July 31st respectively.
On the following day, Saturday, Danny Howard and Vernon Kay will kick off a live three hour set at 4pm. Trevor Nelson will then take over and close out the night, with his live broadcast, set to end at 10 pm. One of the highlights of the weekend, will be the special, Saturday Cream party at Privilege, which will include the popular Swedish DJ duo, of Sebastian Ingrosso and Alesso. They will be joined by Pete Tong, Benny Benassi, Zane Lowe, Annie Mac, Sub Focus and a DJ set from Chase and Status among others. This party will be broadcast on Friday, August 11th in a special, five hour extended essential mix. On Sunday, Annie Mac will bring down the curtain on this seasons weekend, with a live two hour set which goes on air at 10 pm.
