The Infamous Garlands Boat Parties will be setting sail again this year with an all new day of Sunday and including an amazing carry-on after party at We Love Sundays at Space. Of course, being Garlnads expect all the themes, giveaways and full entertainment by a brand new Garlands Boat Brigade, just as wild at heart as the previous incumbents of carnage on the high seas. The Garlands Sunday Boat Parties include free entry to We Love @ Space and everything that goes with the iconic party brand, including their inimitable take on transporting festival vibes into a club each and every week.
As it that wasn't enough, Garlands also launch their own dedicated Bedlam club night each and every Monday at Sankeys in Playa d’en Bossa on Mondays from 16th July to 20th August.
Woowza.

Beyond its well founded reputation of the three decades, the White Isle has been the hedonistic capital of the world for thousands of years. Its significance as a spiritual centre point extends further than the lifespan of most modern religions, having been a destination for pagans since the Carthaginians first arrived in 654 BC. In the twentieth century, when Franco’s dictatorship engulfed Spain in a period of unease and civil anxiety, the free-thinkers, gays, artists and progressive philosophers that were driven out of the mainland arrived in Ibiza, before the sixties and seventies characterised the island as the destination of playboys, hippies and fun seekers across the planet.

Its recent historical importance came when modern dance music’s eureka moment occurred on the island. Ibiza would then become the destination of choice for thousands of pleasure seekers often unaware of this rich history and heritage, the island never lost its lustre or appeal beyond the obvious. People still turned up expecting the flamboyant antics that used to take place at Ku before it became Privilege, hordes of thrill-seekers wanting to get in touch with the island’s unique vibe and beauty beyond the obvious tourist spots. And in celebration of this glorious past Garlands announces their Ibizan theatrics for 2012. This will not be a branded event, as per their previous Ibiza seasons, it will be a full blown ‘Garlands Spectacular’ with the club’s patented brand of DJs and entertainers contributing to the Garlands/Bedlam mayhem and madness.

Both Garland Boat Parties and Garlands @ Sankeys will feature impromptu DJ sets from star names as well as the Liverpool resident roster Dave Booth, Les Calvert & Lil’ Jon, the boat parties also boosted by appearances from a series of UK clubnights. But the one constant ingredient will be the spice that gifts garlands its unique appeal. These aren’t events focused on superstar egos and the modern clubbing environment in Ibiza, for all their value. This is instead about a period in time where enjoyment was everything, where flamboyance and outlandish entertainment were the norm, a component of Ibiza that has been there for thousands of years.
In 2012, Garlands will be adding another furtive chapter to that illustrious history.
