Even just 2 weeks in and it’s already been the summer of change. All the talk leading up to the start of the season focused on the new regulations outlawing daytime dancing and curtailing the opening hours of the discos that the island is most famous for.
Trust Azuli then to turn all the rumours on their head and be the first to push the boundaries. Last Wednesday saw them host a secret Ibiza beach party with Groove Armada and Crazy P rocking a smiley happy crowd dancing in the sunshine with sand beneath their toes.
The gossip all started a couple of weeks before with websites and forums buzzing with talk of a hidden beach and a mobile hotline to call for directions and information. The day itself started with clouds and the odd spitter of rain, spawning hurried doubts as to whether the event would even go ahead.
The weather pulled through though, and by 6pm the barbie was on and Crazy P took to the decks for a soulful disco set with love vocals from Danielle Moore.
By the time the Andy Cato took to the decks the sun was setting and the party will on the way to being the best of the entire opening season.
