So last weekend was the start of it all. The 1st June signalled the beginning of another year and the sign for the madness to kick in.
It was madness for sure outside of Space at 5pm on Sunday. The car park was overflowing with queues; it was difficult to see where they began and where they led to.
One effect of the new change in opening hours law meant that the club couldn’t open until midday, and the pressure of getting 18,000 party crazed ravers into the club was evident by only a few hours in.
The problem was fairly swiftly rectified though, and once inside the enormous expansion of the car park area the huge effort in production clearly made up for any issues out at the entrance. Giant screens all the way round the outer walls, a huge stage worthy of a stadium gig and some nattily attired air hostess dancers were just ticket to get the Flight Club Arena rocking even before the star of the day Fatboy Slim got down to business.
